Ohrid has extraordinary cultural and historical monuments. In 10th and 11th centuries it was the capital of the Macedonian state of Tsar Samoil. The walls of this 16 meters high fortress still rise above the city, where concerts, operas, and plays are performed each summer. Currently, the Ohrid citadel has 18 towers, three of which are semi-circular and 15 square-shaped, and four main gates.

The church
“St. Pantelejmon” was built in the 10th century, in the time of St. Kliment.
It was renewed in 13th and 14th century, when it was painted. In the 15th century it was destroyed by the Otoman Turks and now it is rebuilt again at the original place, exactly like it was at the beginning.
